TAA RAVE Tour...

Hackney Wicked Arts Festival...

Hi People,
Ok so.... the Glastonbury arts trail....
Our plan is to fill the shangri-la badlands with our art work, working our way out of our tent, increasingly taking over as the festival progresses, TAA style, working our way to the hub and ultimate takeover. (see shangri-bla)
Therefore we need as much art work as possible, and need all TAAers from the whole country to contribute. however it being glastonbury it needs to be non-precious and preferably waterproof.
So we've been thinking prints are the way to go. photos, pics of art work, pics of past exhibitions, drawings, stills from films. but we also need (health and safety safe) sculptures or boards with paintings/graff on. we want it all.
However, we need people to do their own printing, as funds are tight and if possible own laminating/waterproofing. if you can print large, great. if you cant, we are going to do photographic bunting which A4 prints are perfect for, and we can repeat prints. we need loads of A4 prints as our aim is to cover Shangrila with our art bunting. if you absolutely absolutely cant print yourselves, send me the pics and i can print small ones.
We have limited space in the tent for some art work, beautiful backdrops or large prints, or sculptures, so get in touch.
Please get in touch with me Lauren 07780877005 to arrange getting your stuff in to Glasto as I will be driving truck onto site around the 18th June.

Brighton Street Blitz - 1 - 31 May 2009
[T]emporary [A]utonomous [A]rt 2009 Brighton
From May 13th - May 16th we're running a TAA festival in Brighton.
It will be held at:
Unit 1, Fairways Trading Estate
Eastergate Road
Moulsecoomb
This can be traveled to via the number 49 bus, Moulsecoomb railway station or via the Sussex University turnoff on the A27.
We still need as much help as possible, so please look at the TAT Wishlist for more on what we need.
TAA's are free, open access art exhibitions that take place in disused and reclaimed spaces throughout the UK.
Reclaiming space that has no other immediate purpose, we will be repairing, making safe and improving the building we use before transforming it into a vibrant, organic, artistic statement.
We want the people of Brighton to come together to create a cultural, interactive autonomous space where people are free to be, free to create and free to express themselves.
Artists, musicians, writers and performers who otherwise would have no outlet, are invited to display their work uninhibited by the normal constraints placed on the current artistic climate. The space is used respectfully and intelligently, for genuine community development, creating fields of opportunity for a future at no cost or harm to anyone else. We want to exhibit all forms of artwork; drawings, paintings, sculptures big and small, photography, installations and more. Showcasing poets and vocalists, films and performance, words and concepts born out of the free party underground movement. These spaces of reclaimed freedom have been making a significant contribution to an alternative art world.
The event will run for four days from Wednesday through to Saturday. Opening from midday to midnight. We aim to offer a exhibition space, workshops, a cinema/film evening, cabaret, junk fashion show and live music. We welcome people from all backgrounds to come and get involved. So if you want to contribute in any way at all please get in touch.
Please check back regularly to find out more. Send an email to mailing-subscribe@subterraneanartbrighton.org to subscribe to the mailing list.
